This video outlines some of the key characteristics that make up a good coach both on and off the court. I’ve cited a few coaches that exemplify these characteristics, including Coach K and Coach Smith.

Coaches need to exude confidence under control, and a good coach has got to know how each player reacts to different pressures and situations.

One of the most impressive things I learned from Coach Smith, however, has nothing to do with the game itself. Coaches have the power to make a difference in players’ lives even after the players graduate.
